Join us EVERY 4th Thursday of the month from 12:00-1:00PM in the Community Wellness Center for a delicious cooking demonstration and tasting!
We offer monthly classes in our Wellness Demonstration Kitchen (in the Community Wellness Center) where participants have an opportunity to learn about new foods and easy, fresh recipes. When in season, participants can also take home produce from the campus gardens through our Garden Giveaways program. The classes are led by natural chef, Catherine McConkie, and a Registered Dietitian and include simple tips for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other topics discussed in the classes include hydration tips, label reading for hidden sugars and salt, cooking with spices, and preparing soups and stews.
In the near future, we will host events with Neighborhood restaurants and chefs that will offer demonstrations of fresh, simple, delicious dishes and sponsor fun activities like cooking competitions with natural ingredients grown at the hospital.
